Meghan began her career in criminal law in 2013 when she Articled as a summer student at the criminal defence firm Sutherland Jetté Barristers in Vancouver, BC. She was called to the bar in 2015 and went on to open her own criminal defence practice before joining Mickelson & Whysall in October of 2016.
Meghan fights fiercely for her clients’ rights and never backs down from a challenge. She has acquired a significant amount of trial experience as a young lawyer representing clients across the lower mainland and northern British Columbia. Meghan’s caseload consists of Immediate Roadside Prohibitions, driving offences, sexual assaults, assaults, frauds, drug offences, civil forfeiture and firearm prohibitions.
Meghan is from Winnipeg Manitoba. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Honours Legal Studies at the University of Waterloo before completing her law degree at the University of Victoria. Meghan has also been published by the Canadian Bar Association where she wrote on the topic of Constitutional Challenges to Mandatory Minimum Sentences in Canada.
