Referral to Remedial Programs
If you receive a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition you can be referred to the Responsible Driver Program and/or the Ignition Interlock Program. Even if this is your first offence the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles can deem that it is in the public interest for you to participate in either or both of these programs.
The lawyers at Mickelson & Whysall know that the referral to the Remedial Programs is not necessary in every case to ensure public safety. The consequences and financial penalties of a 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition are often sufficient in themselves to ensure that behaviour is not repeated. The lawyers at Mickelson & Whysall have helped their clients avoid having to participate in both the Responsible Driver Program and the Ignition Interlock Program. They can help you challenged your referral to the Remedial Programs
After your 90 Day Immediate Roadside Prohibition is completed you will received a letter in the mail or be notified at the Driver’s Licensing office of your referral to the Remedial Programs. You only have 30 calendar days from the date of the letters to send in your Reconsideration to the Remedial Programs.
